Monia Basso is a Brazilian-Australian Architect based in Melbourne. Born in Caxias do Sul, Monia completed her higher education in Melbourne after moving to Australia in 2007. Monia is a registered Architect with the Architects Registration Board of Victoria (ARBV) and an Architeam member.

Monia graduated with her Masters of Architecture and Bachelor of Architectural Design (Distinction) at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), School of Architecture in 2013 and 2011. Monia studied in Brazil at the University of Caxias do Sul on the Bachelor of Architecture and Urbanism from 2005 to 2007.

Monia has been working in Melbourne since 2008. Before establishing her own practice in 2017, Monia Basso Architects, Monia worked with several architecture (Rob Mills, CHT, MA) and heritage (JBA) consultancy practices in Melbourne. She has developed several different project types and scales, including small-scale residential, multi-residential, aged care, educational and commercial.

Monia teached at the University Melbourne Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning (MSD) for both the Masters of Architecture and Bachelor of Design. Monia has also taught at Melbourne Polytechnic School of Engineering Design and Construction for the Bachelor of Built Environment. And Monash University for Integrated Design and Professional Practice.
